Liver? No thanks!

I have not been good at posting things lately but for good reason. My grandmother passed away on August 9th. Really it was such a blessing! She was almost 90 years old and until the last 6 weeks she took care of herself just fine. Then she got sick and cancer was discovered after a few visits to the hospital. Cancer from her throat to her torso. Really a fast passing from this life. Some fun memories from my Grandmother was waking up at her house as a child with the smell of eggs and bacon cooking along with coffee. Now I have never tasted coffee but it sure smells good in the cool California mornings. I was also blessed to be with her as she entered the Temple for the first time at age 87. If anyone knows me, you know that my family no matter were you are, are the most important things to me. So I became even more lucky to have all my brothers and sisters and parents come the next week for the funeral. This might sound weird but even dressing my grandmother was a good experience with my mom. My brother Jeremy came Tueday night and we had a great BBQ and then more fun began. That night I started feeling some pain in my abdomen. Now being a girl really sucks since we have pain there and around there often and it could be many things...so I just kept going. My parents arrived the next morning and my sister a few hours later. As Wednesday came my pain became more intense but I didn't want to say anything since I had a house full of family. But on the way to the viewing I couldn't handle the pain and looked at my husband and really didn't have to say much, he could see it in my eyes. I told him that if I don't feel better afterwards I needed to go to the ER. Funny thing, after I got home I enjoyed a few laughs with my mom and sister and went to bed. At 2am I awoke with more pain and woke Dave and told hm it was time for ER. I wanted to hurry since the funeral was in Whitter at 11am. I thought that I had an infection somewhere and some pills would solve it. By 5am I knew that I had a 7cm blood clott in my pelvis and my dr was there by 5:30am. Well I guess I should say that I had a little surgery July 27th to fix a little problem from having kids. My poor Dr looked at me and said you ruined my statistics! I never have any problems with this surgery. I guess I did to much to fast and broke a vessel and since that area of your body has no place to drain it just gathered. To make a long story short, I stayed in the hospital for a day and the dr wanted to make sure it wasn't growing at least. He did not mention that his plan was to pack me full of stuff and put presure on this clott to drain. I missed the funeral and my famiy came to visit and during the visit the clott decided to give and I sat in blood running up and over my leg. As the lights started flashing and I'm thinking I am hemeraging the nurses responded and called the dr. This is so long so I have left out some interesting things out but today I have finally quit bleeding and the clott is not growing. I am so tired that my mom tried to feed me liver to build up the blood. Liver or strength? No strength thank you .

Cub Scout Day Camp

Nick is lucky he got to go to two day camps. This one was at the Ventura Fairgrounds and he got to go fishing. I had to go and do a visitation and he tagged along.

2009 Pioneer day- July 18

Our stake celebrates Pioneer day with fun games, good food and a new addition the dance Festival. It is so much fun! This year Matt joined in on "THE Car Wash" and did a great job in his tye-dye shirt as he drove in and did a flip over Sam's back.

Elder McClellan update

I wish I had a picture for this post but the imagination is going to have to be enough. Last week when I received Tim's email he started it with, "Mom, I almost killed myself this week but don't worry It was for a baptizm." He continued to say that he was missing his eyebrows, eyelashes and the top layer of his hair, which had been shaved off now. The picture we put together is that he was filling up the font and the hot water was not coming out. So the smart person Tim is he went to turn on the gas and left the gas runnning to long before he lit the pilot light....BBBOOMMMM! Therefore he is missing the hair on his face. It is a good thing he has 78 days until he comes home!!!

Relaxing at the Beach

I was company free for 2 weeks and we decided to take to the beach with some friends. It was probably one of the most relaxing trips we have ever taken. Between Bobby and Matt they made it difficult to get many pictures with certain people in them or without them.

Company, Company and more Company!

As soon as the grauation company left (my parents and brother) my sister Heidi and her daughters came to get out of the Az heat. We had a trip to the beach that ended up being a nice day and the kids enjoyed it too.

Then as soon as my one sister left...my other sister Heather and her daughter Chelsea came with Heathers boyfriend Steve and his kids Travis and Rachel. This was a fun 4th of July at Magic Mountain, a trip to venice beach (Freaks) and then Ice Cream for dinner as we watched fireworks. Let's not forget the Mcclellan Family tradition of "The Face Race".

June 18, 2009 Lindsey is 18

We were so excited the day Lindsey was born. It was a cool 122* in Mesa, Az. I could look out the window and see steam coming up off the asphault parking lot. She has always had great lungs and has always been good at using them. Lindsey knows what she wants and tells everyone the way it should be done. She is a great sister to all her brothers and sister. Lindsey is the one the family goes to, to get fashion advice. This birthday was 2 days after graduation so the party spirit had not come to our house. After a little convincing and lots of promises she agreed to invite some friends over for a "Not birthday party". She had a pasta party and some ice cream cake. It ended up being a fun night with some good friends and went way past the promised 10pm.

Simi Valley High Graduation June 16, 2009

This day was so Bitter/Sweet! Sweet because we had family in town to celebrate Lindsey's High school graduation but Bitter due to another moment without Amanda. The day was full of high emotion and not so many smiles. It was so hard to not want to send Lindsey to her room and on the other hand I wanted to cry and hug Lindsey all day. Lindsey kept sunglasses on to cover the tears in her eyes and we never got a smile. The ceremony was nice, a poem dedicated to Amanda, a standing ovation when her name was called and balloons let off in memory. I am sure Amanda would have loved the attention. Sandra and Bart had Lei's made for some of Amanda's friends and they were beautiful with a picture of Amanda on them.

Nick had his last basketball game. He averaged about 10 points per game and played great! I think we might have a basketball player. Maybe he will be tall?

More Senior Pics

What a Beauty!!

Since the other ones were not quit what Lindsey wanted I had to do another shoot. If you ever see my car off the road in a ditch or in a strange place, you will know I am taking pictures. All the poor families and kids that I make hike to my favorite picture taking places. Here they are...

Senior prom

As hard as this day was Lindsey sure was beautiful and had a good time. Her hair looked great and went perfect with her dress. She went with a group of friends and her friend Sarah. They met at a house and there was 2 huge Limo's that where filled in every seat. I can't believe this is her last school dance.
